15 July 2009 For Immediate Release
London, UK, 15 July 2009: Leading sat nav maker Mio today announces ‘Total Refresh’ services to offer new and existing customers in Western European regions its most comprehensive map and safety camera information yet. The Total Refresh 30-day guarantee and two-year Total Refresh Pack are launched alongside a new policy on map updates for Mio’s range of personal navigation devices (PNDs).
As road layouts evolve and change over time, the latest offerings from Mio reassure its customers that their PNDs can be fully up-to-date with the latest map and safety camera information whenever and wherever they are. Updated maps ensure that drivers are given the best available route from A to B, while safety camera information keeps drivers aware of any new cameras that have been installed and helps to protect their driving licenses.
The Total Refresh packages feature Tele Atlas digital maps and content, which are developed with the insight of a community of millions of digital map users worldwide, who are adding to Tele Atlas' unmatched network of sources to track and validate changes in real time, and deliver the best digital maps and dynamic content. Safety camera data is provided by RoadPilot Ltd, the original pioneers of GPS speed camera location systems. Today, RoadPilot is Europe’s leading supplier of GPS safety camera data to the automotive satellite navigation industry, and provides accurate safety camera information to partner firms across Europe.
Huw Bush, Head of UK Marketing, Mio, commented: “The Total Refresh Guarantee and Total Refresh Pack demonstrate our commitment to giving customers access to the very latest maps and safety camera information, and give drivers even more reasons to choose Mio. The services give drivers the confidence that they will always take the best possible route available to their destination, while protecting their driving license.”
James Flynn, CEO, RoadPilot, said: “Fixed safety cameras result in almost three million speeding fines in the UK alone each year. RoadPilot provides Mio users with the latest camera information, so drivers are fully prepared and protected wherever they drive.”
The Mio Total Refresh Guarantee allows new Mio Moov or Navman Spirit users to make sure that they have the very latest map available for their region upon purchase of a device. Users need only register their new PND with Mio Advantage within 30 days of first use or purchase, and if Mio releases a more recent map for their device within the 30 day guarantee they can then download it for free. New safety camera data within the same region is also included in the download.
The Mio Total Refresh Pack gives Navman Spirit users 24 months of automatic map and safety camera updates* in one package, ensuring that they have access to the best available routes and providing protection for their driving licenses. Maps also include updated Points of Interest such as new restaurants, museums and hotels. The Total Refresh Pack includes up to four map updates (two per year) and 24 monthly safety camera updates.
Maps for Navman Spirit Series PNDs will be updated twice a year.
The Total Refresh Guarantee is free and available now to new Mio Moov or Navman Spirit customers within 30 days of the purchase or activation of device. Terms and conditions apply; please see www.mio.com/totalrefresh for more information.
The Total Refresh Pack will be available to purchase in the Mio E-store in July and is compatible with the newly launched Navman Spirit PNDs. It is available in three different packages:
